Since returning from his year long exchange to London in 2011, Thomas Friberg has expanded his involvement in the Perth music scene. While studying physics and mechanical engineering at the University of Western Australia, Thomas is in his second year as General Manager of the Giovanni Consort. His involvement with a new Perth group called OperaBox also resulted in his being cast as Sparaficile/Monterone in Rigoletto, Marcello in La Boheme and also as Guglielmo in a sold out season of Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte. Thomas has further pursued his operatic aspirations having recently sung his first opera for 2012 as part of the West Australian Opera Chorus. Since then he has sung as part of the chorus in WAOs productions of The Pearlfishers, Lucia Di Lammermoor, La Traviata and Don Giovanni. Soon after arriving back in Perth, Thomas sang with the Perth Undergraduate Choral Society as a soloist alongside WA Opera star Katja Webb. Since then he has continued building relationships with orchestras and choral societies as a soloist in Perth.

While taking his exchange year at University College London, around his engineering studies, Thomas sang regularly with elite youth choral groups such as the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, the Rodolfus choir, Laudibus and weekly with the Chapel Choir of Kings College London. This brief but fruitful exposure in London has led to solo experiences across the country. Before leaving the country in July 2011, Thomas played the role of Figaro in the King's College London production of the Marriage of Figaro and also the role of Pilate in a period production of Bach's St John's Passion. Soon after leaving, Thomas sang bass solos in a performance of the Monteverdi Vespers with the Oxford Bach Choir in the Sheldonian Theatre.

While there was much choral musical involvement in the United Kingdom, the majority of Thomas's solo musical experience comes from his education and participation within his hometown of Perth, Australia. As well as being a Lay Clerk of St George's Cathedral, Thomas performs regularly with The Giovanni Consort and the St George's Cathedral Consort, performing Tallis' Spem in Alium with renowned UK group I Fagiolini in the Perth Concert Hall as part of the 2011 Perth International Arts Festival. In 2012, he sang again in the popular PIAF Tenebrae et Lux season in the 2012 festival. Thomas's musical experience as a baritone stems from his involvement at St George's Cathedral as a treble and then at Christ Church Grammar school where he received the inaugural vocal scholarship. In 2007 he subsequently achieved a perfect TEE performance score and was a soloist in the performing arts perspectives at His Majesty's theatre. Shortly afterwards, Thomas worked as a guest artist with the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (MetSO), the South Side Symphony Orchestra, the Perth Undergraduate Choral Society and Art Song Perth. Thomas is currently under the guidance of Jolanta Nagajek (2011-2013).
