The Giovanni Consort, conducted by Jangoo Chapkhana

In the final concert of their 2018 season, The Giovanni Consort presents a program of sublime English choral music written during the Twentieth Century.

Great Britain’s relationship with choral music is peerless; the cultural identity of the country can be charted throughout the centuries by the compositional styles of initial masters such as Purcell, Byrd and Tallis to the modern equivalents of Mealor, Panufnik and Bennett. Choral communities throughout the globe have emerged from the influence of this tradition, and many international composers of the present day cite the British masters as their inspiration.

The Giovanni Consort will delight audiences with some of the masterworks that were written by great English composers during the past century. Conducted by Jangoo Chapkhana in the architectural magnificence of Trinity Uniting Church, The Giovanni Consort will deliver stunning renditions of pieces by composers including Leighton, Howells, Finzi and Delius. Sacred and secular works will be performed as we close our 2018 Season with as much pomp and majesty as possible.

We encourage you to join us for our final Concert Series performance of the year, as this event will be truly spectacular.
