Lest we forget with the Claremont Consort

The newly formed Claremont Consort, featuring some of Perth’s finest choral singers, offer Gabriel Faure’s transporting REQUIEM Op.48, in commemoration of the Gallipoli centenary. This incredibly moving ‘mass for the dead’ is universally considered a choral masterpiece; composed c. 1890, it convey’s the composers hopeful view of life's final curtain. “It is thus that I see death: as a happy deliverance, an aspiration towards happiness above.” The concert will include other choral works, including Percy Grainger’s haunting ‘Irish Tune from County Derry’, interspersed with poetry and readings from WWI.

Ticket includes complimentary champagne. Under 30s half price tickets.
