A mythical land between the sun and the moon.

The Magic Flute is a timeless tale of truth, love, courage and discovery, following the journey of two young couples as they discover their own strengths and weaknesses and pass the tests of true love and friendship. Along theway a prince receives a magic flute from the Queen of the Night and sets out to rescue the queen’s daughter from a priest.

The opera is among the most elegant and charming written by Mozart. It includes fiery stratospheric vocal writing for the Queen of the Night and wonderfully comic scenes for the bird-catcher apageno. Mozart was interested in symbols, rituals and Masonic numerology including sequences of ‘3’ and ‘5’ heard in the fanfares of the overture.

Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
